Step 1: Log In and Access the Dashboard
Once you’ve signed up, log in to your account https://unusualflow.com/login. After logging in, you’ll be greeted by the Dashboard, which provides a comprehensive view of the market.

Here’s what you’ll see, highlighted in Fig. 1.
Market Sentiment: A quick overview of whether the market is bullish or bearish.
Put/Call Ratios and Put/Call Volume: Track volume and premium across the market for a deeper insight into overall trends.
Put/Call Premium: Total amount of premium traded in the market so far.

Step 2: Understand the Dashboard Layout
The dashboard includes a table with live options flow data. Here are the key features:

Key Columns (Fig. 2.)
Time: Shows the time when trade was placed with filter option of going back into historical data.
Ticker (Symbol): Displays the stock ticker and allows you to track specific companies or ETFs.
Side: If the trade was placed at Asking, Middle or at Bid side.
Strike: Indicates the strike price for the option contract.
Contract: Highlights whether the trade was a Call or Put.
Expiration: Shows the expiration date.
DTE: Shows number of the days remaining in contract expiration.
Price: Shows at what price contract was executed.
Stock: Price of the stock at the time of execution.
Volume (Vol) & Open Interest (OI): Displays the trade volume and open interest of the contract.
Bid-Ask: Show what was the bid and asking of the contract at the time of execution.
Size: Tells what was the contract size (multiple of 100). A size of 2 means 200 shares where executed.
Premium: Represents the dollar amount spent on the trade, helping identify significant investments. Premium is calculated by multiplying size with price.
Additional Features
Unusual Flow Indicators: Flags like "OTM" (Out of the Money) and "ITM" (In the Money) provide quick insights into the option’s nature.
Sentiment: Classifies trades as Bullish, Bearish, or Neutral, helping you gauge the market mood.
Multi-Leg Trades: Easily spot complex trades like spreads or straddles.
Step 3: Use Search & Filters
Search
Search Bar: Quickly find stocks or options by entering a ticker or name (e.g., "QQQ", "Apple", "Microsoft").

Filters & Columns
Filters Management Panel (Fig. 3.): Refine your view based on custom or preset filters.
Custom filters: Filter on columns to be able to create custom filters and save them for later use.
Columns Selector (Fig. 4.): Customize the table to display only the data that matters most to you.

Step 4: Navigate the Sidebar
The left sidebar provides easy access to UnusualFlow’s core features:

Heatmap: Visualize the whole S&P 500 trends at a glance.
Top Gainers & Losers: Stay updated on the biggest market movers.
Hottest Contracts/Chains: Discover trending option chains.
Unusual Flow Picks: Access curated options flow for potential opportunities.
Tickers: Monitor specific stocks in detail.
Bookmarks: Save your favorite flow/insights for quick access.
News: Stay informed with the latest financial updates.
Earning Calendar: See upcoming earnings

Step 5: Using Heatmap
Heatmap provides you with a 360 degree view of the S&P 500 helping you spot early developing trends and spot winers. Heatmap is updated every 15min. giving you a refreshed data. (See Fig. 6.)
Bright green shows a percentage gain of 3% plus and bright red shows the opposite.
Hover over the sector shows all members of the sector including stock price, % change and total market cap (see. Fig. 7.)
You can save the whole market snapshot by clicking "Save Image" or even go "Fullscreen" for a larger view.
Double clicking takes you into ticker details page for the selected ticker.
Additionally you can zoom in and out by pinching and scrolling for deeper view for the smaller tiles.

Step 6: Top Gainers and Losers
The Top Gainers and Losers feature from Unusual Flow provides a quick overview of options activity by listing the most active tickers based on their volume, premium traded, and sector.
Top Gainers: Displays tickers with the highest activity and significant positive momentum.
Top Losers: Highlights tickers with declining premiums or negative trends.
This helps traders quickly identify potential opportunities or risks across sectors, enabling informed decision-making.
Step 7: Hottest Contracts/Chains
Hottest contracts shows large price movements in a particular chain. Sorted by the volume, contracts shows % change in the previous vs. last traded prices of an option. This helps you quickly identify options chains that are gaining momentum on either Call or Put side.
Chains can be filtered by column
Chains can be searched by ticker symbol
Comes with Implied Volatility, Open Interest, and Greeks.
Step 8: Unusual Flow Picks
Unusual Flow Picks are selected trades based on certain characteristic, like high premium, Out of Money, trade size, unusual trades etc.
Step 9: Exploring Ticker Details
You can get into ticker details page from the left menu just double clicking ticker symbol from anywhere in the platform.
Ticker details contains three key area:
Overview
Chart analysis (coming soon)
Deeper look into the ticker and aggregates
Options chain
Open Interest Changes
Overview
Options chain
This section shows changes in the open interest per expiration. In example below with META, you can see how OI has changed from previous day vs. current. This table can be a good indicator for future price movement.

Grid view gives you an overview of the OI changes.
Step 10: Bookmark and Save
Use the Bookmark feature to save trades or tickers you want to revisit. Simply click the star icon next to the trade to add it to your list.
Step 11: Staying updated with News
The Latest News feature on UnusualFlow provides users with real-time, curated stock market headlines, categorized by sentiment (positive, neutral, negative). It displays:
Timestamp: When the news was published.
Headline: A concise summary of the news.
Ticker: The related stock symbol for quick reference.
Sentiment: Color-coded analysis to gauge market sentiment at a glance.
Source: The news provider for credibility and further reading.
This feature helps users stay informed about market movements and sentiment trends for smarter trading decisions. Double clicking tickers with blue, takes you to the ticker details.
Step 12: Earning Calendar
Use the Bookmark feature to save trades or tickers you want to revisit. Simply click the star icon next to the trade to add it to your list.Step 5: Use Real-Time Data for Decision Making
The flow table provides real-time updates, making it a powerful tool for identifying market trends.
Look for large premiums under the Premium column to spot significant trades.
Identify potential opportunities by observing Bullish or Bearish sentiment.
Use the Strike and DTE columns to evaluate risk levels.
